Smoking Cessation Advice

As of 1st July 2007 England is becoming smoke free country. Many people are now choosing this as an ideal oppourtunity for them to stop smoking. If however you have not considered quitting then the following information may help to change you mind.

Benefits gained from stopping smoking:

  • After 20 minutes from your last cigarette blood pressure and pulse rates return to normal, and circulation improves especially in hands and feet.
  • After 72 hours from your last cigarette breathing becomes easier and you will have more energy.
  • After 2-12 weeks circulaion improves making it easier to walk and exercise.

According to the NHS if you have decided to stop smoking it is recommended to go through four stages to have the best chance of giving up.
